BeritaGresik.com – Ketua Fraksi Partai persatuan Pembangunan (PPP) MPR RI Arwani Thomafi menegaskan pentingnya memeliharaha keberagaman guna memperkuat persatuan dan kesatuan bangsa.
Hal itu disampaikan anggota Komisi I DPR RI itu saat melaksanakan Sosialisasi Empat Pilar MPR RI bersama tokoh dan masyarakat di Pondok Pesantren Al-Ittihad, Kecamatan Sulang, Rembang, Rabu (21/12/2022).
“Memelihara keberagaman etnis, budaya, bahasa maupun agama memang tidaklah mudah, sehingga diperlukan sikap toleransi dan saling mengharagai atas perbedaaan yang ada,” kata Arwani.
Menurutnya, pendidikan tentang toleransi sangatlah penting untuk dipahami, diamalkan dan di ajarkan ke masyarakat luas, agar tercipta masyarakat yang toleran dan mampu menghargai setiap keberagaman di Indonesia.
“Karena keberagama bukanlah sesuatu yang dapat memecah belah negara ini. Sebalikmya, keberagman adalah sesuatu modal kuat dalam mempersatukan bangsa Indonesia dan menjadikan kita sebagai bangsa yang besar,” ujarnya.
Karena itu, ia menekankan kepada semua elemen bangsa agar selalu menjaga keberagaman yang dimiliki bangsa ini, terutama kebudayaan yang telah di wariskan turun-temurun oleh nenek moyang.
“Jangan sampai budaya yang seharusnya di miliki oleh negara Indonesia diklaim oleh negara lain, yang tidak memiliki hak atas kebudayaan tersebut,” imbuhnya. [as]
