BeritaGresik.com – Ketua Fraksi Partai Persatuan Pembangunan (PPP) MPR Arwani Thomafi menggelar kegiatan Sosialisasi Empat Pilar MPR di Pondok Pesantren Puti As-Sa’adah Kota Semarang, Jawa Tengah, Jumat (2/12/2022).
Dalam kesempatan itu, Arwani mengatakan bahwa para santri sudah memiliki pemahaman yang baik karena mampu menyebutkan masing-masing dari empat pilar MPR, yaitu Pancasila, UUD 1945, NKRI dan Bhinneka Tunggal Ika.
“Hal ini menunjukkan kepada kita semua bahwa para santri sudah tahu dan memahami ap aitu Empat Pilar MPR RI,” ujarnya.
Lebih lanjut, Arwani menjelaskan terkait sejarah terbentuknya lembaga MPR RI. Pada awalnya, MPR dikatakan sebagai lembaga tertinggi di Indonesia. Namun, setelah reformasi dan perubahan UUD 1945 yang terjadi pada 1999-2002, MPR tidak lagi menjadi lembaga tertinggi, tapi sejajar dengan kedudukan lembaga tinggi negara lainnya seperti DPR dan DPD.
“MPR tidak lagi sebagai lembaga tertinggi negara melainkan lembaga tinggi negara. Kewenangan dan tugas MPR yakni melantik presiden dan wakil presiden terpilih, dan tugasnya mensosialisasikan Empat Pilar MPR,” terangnya.
Anggota Komisi I DPR RI itu berpesan kepada para santri untuk memanfaatkan waktu muda untuk belajar dengan rajin dan membekali diri dengan ilmu agama dan ilmu pengetahuan yang memadai, sehingga santri memiliki daya saing yang tinggi.
“Para santri juga memiliki tanggung jawab atas masa depan bangsa ini. Maju dan tidaknya bangsa Indonesia di masa depan ditentukan oleh generasi muda saat ini,” pungkasnya. (as)
